My Professional Artifacts
There are many projects, tasks, work samples or artifacts that you may endeavor during your professional learnings and career. As a student that is currently achieving placement hours, you are engaged in various tasks with multiple people to ensure that you are gaining the experience you may need when you are working within the field. Below you will identify some of my successful artifacts that I have engaged in over the course of the past two years. If you would like to know more about them or have details please feel free to use the contact form to reach out.
SIMPLIFYING THE INTAKE PROCESS

Time is always an issue regardless if it is for work, school, or home life. There are times that you may encounter technical issues with the printer, accessing documents or even knowing where to find these documents. When you are dependent on students and volunteers to be able to carry a work load, you may see people going in and out like a revolving door.
Having an understanding of what food items are required for each location can be difficult to a new person, or someone that is there on a part time basis. Providing residents, staff, volunteers or students the opportunity to be able to have an idea on what is required and the quantities to avoid food waste, or overuse. This excel document allows the supervisor of that specific location to input the on hand quantities, can calculate the required quantities. This assists with proper budgeting for food items and allows forecasting on what the expected costs would be.

RESOURCE MANUAL OF IMPORTANT INFO FOR RESIDENTS (ONGOING)
Day to day questions or challenges vary for each resident. There are times you are asked the same questions on how to do something, or where to go for something. This can be frustrating for the resident to be able to receive the answer that he/she may need. I created a Resource Manual that will be shared on a virtual drive for the clients to be able to access when they require. Things that can be found in the resource manual will range from Ontario Works Documents, Housing Registry Documents, Dentists for Residents on Ontario Works, Drivers License information, Library Card and Locations. I have posted a couple of the examples that have already been created and posted around the shelter for residents to access. Once the resource manual has been combined and converted to pdf it will be posted on ONEDRIVE that past, present and future residents can access.

Non-Compliance
Sometimes people may have not been compliant with the rules that have been set in place. For whatever the reason they may have an issue that they have refused. It is important that the client has an understanding on when they have failed to follow the rules.
